Hi, Denie,
How lucky you are! 8 weeks! I have only been China once, but fell in love with the country and the people. (The food isn't bad either!)
There are only 3 thing I can think of o share with you that you may or may not have considered. First, don't talk politics. Second, take plenty of buiness cards. And, third, take some US / China flag lapel pins. I learned about the pins working with Sister Cities Internatinal. These litle pins of friendship are appreciated in any country. They were well receied in China.
Have a wonderful trip and watch out for the chicken feet! Alice
PS. I forgot. Make sure you purchase a fan while you're there. It's hot and humid and most places don't have air condiioning. There is a little mat similar to a table place mat that is made of little jade tiles you can purchase. These are wonderful at night to put on your pillow. Jade is always cold and it is refreshing to feel when you're trying to sleep.
